Casting
The casting department of Hajm Sepahan Steel Company encompasses the processes of molding, melting, casting, and flask emptying. After the design and technical specifications of the parts are finalized by the engineering unit, the molding of the parts is carried out.
Molding can be performed using two methods: manual molding and semi-automatic molding (with a molding machine). After the completion of molding, the molds are arranged in the assembly section based on the production schedule provided by the production manager, where coating and painting operations are conducted. Finally, after assembling the flasks according to weight, the parts are prepared for pouring.
This company is equipped with medium-frequency induction furnaces for melting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The capacities of the casting furnaces include 500 kg, 1 ton, 2 tons, and 6 tons, utilizing raw materials such as ferroalloys, iron scrap, and alloyed scraps to achieve high-quality melts. Once the melting process is complete, a sample is sent to the laboratory for quantometric analysis, and after approval, the melt is authorized for pouring. After the molds are poured and sufficient cooling time has elapsed, they are transferred to the flask-emptying section, where the sand adhering to the cast parts is removed.
The wide range of part sizes, melting capacities, precise control of molding processes, and access to various materials for model production enable the company to manufacture high-quality steel and cast iron parts in different scales, from prototypes to mass production.
